February 2024 Activities Update
In February 2024, we successfully conducted a series of activities aimed at supporting and empowering local entrepreneurs. These initiatives are part of our ongoing commitment to fostering sustainable agricultural practices and economic growth in our community.
We held comprehensive training seminars on broiler farming and agribusiness, attended by over 30 aspiring entrepreneurs. The sessions covered best practices, management techniques, and sustainable farming methods, equipping participants with the knowledge needed to start and grow their own businesses.
Resource Provision:
To help new entrepreneurs get started, we provided qualified participants with a starter kit that included a few birds and feed for the first two weeks. This initial support significantly lowers the entry barrier for those new to broiler farming.
Networking Events:
We organized networking events that allowed participants to connect with experienced farmers, industry experts, and potential mentors. These events fostered valuable relationships and opened up opportunities for collaboration and support.
Buy-Back Program:
Our buy-back program continues to be a cornerstone of our support strategy. we bought back over 500 mature birds from local farmers, in 2024 ensuring a stable market and income for the entrepreneurs we support.
Success Stories:
We are proud to share several success stories from participants who have significantly advanced their businesses thanks to our programs. One notable example is Aderoju Tawakalitu, who has expanded her broiler farming operation and now employs two additional workers, contributing to local job creation and economic development.
These activities highlight our dedication to empowering entrepreneurs and promoting sustainable agriculture in our community. We look forward to continuing this important work and expanding our impact in the months to come.
